Changes in the admission of international students

According to the Act of 4 April 2025 on amending certain acts in order to eliminate irregularities in the visa system of the Republic of Poland, the rules of admission of international students have changed. All information below concerns the ongoing admission for the academic year 2025/2026 – make sure to read it carefully and prepare the necessary documents. The admission changes for first-, second-, and long-cycle studies referred to in the act shall enter into force on 1st July 2025. Candidates who enrol after this date shall be obliged to deliver additional documents according to the following information.

1.Citizens of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and Great Britain

Education completed in Poland, EU, OECD, EFTA countries, Ukraine, China (Gaozhong certificate), or IB (International Baccalaureate) /EB (European Baccalaureate) systems – no additional documents required.

Education completed in other countries – required:

  • Language proficiency certificate at a minimum B2 level (in accordance with the MNiSW list)*

  • Recognition statement:

    - for I cycle studies (Bachelor) - a confirmation of recognition from NAWA or a decision issued by the regional education superintendent .

    From 1 July 2025, secondary school certificates must be recognised through the Syrena system (https://nawa.gov.pl/en/recognition/how-to-obtain-a-recognition-statement/secondary-school-certificate ).The Syrena system operates online using scanned documents, which do not need to be legalised. The process is free of charge.The statement provided by NAWA’s Director will be issued within 60 days from the submission of a complete set of documents and will be electronically signed.

    If a decision for your certificate has already been issued by the Education Superintendent or the process was initiated before 30 June 2025, it remains valid and does not need to be repeated in the Syrena system.

2. Candidates who are not citizens of the above-mentioned countries:

Education completed in Poland – no additional documents required.

Education completed in EU, OECD, EFTA countries, Ukraine, China (Gaozhong certificate), or IB/EB systems – required:

  • Language proficiency certificate at a minimum B2 level.

Education completed in other countries – required:

  • Language proficiency certificate at a minimum B2 level,

  • Recognition statement:

  • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) – onsite or online version – minimum score: 59
LanguageCert (PeopleCert Qualifications, PCQ)
  • LanguageCert International ESOL – Communicator B2 (Listening, Reading, Writing) + Communicator B2 (Speaking) or higher
  • LanguageCert Academic – Level 1 (B2) or higher

    You can submit e.g. LanguageCert International B2 (Communicator) exam (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking).

I. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR ENROLLMENT

Before starting the enrollment process, please ensure you have the following scanned documents ready for upload via our recruitment system:

  • Signed Application Form (generated in the system)
  • Proof of recruitment fee payment (19 EUR)
  • Copy of your Passport or Identification Document
  • Copy of your Secondary School-Leaving Certificate, Maturity Certificate, or Bachelor’s Degree (issued by an accredited institution)
  • Transcript for the above certificates (if available) or Supplement to the Diploma
  • Translation of documents into Polish or English by a sworn translator (if not originally issued in English)
  • Document confirming English language proficiency
  • Information from the director of the National Agency for Academic (NAWA) - If required

II.  REQUIRED DOCUMENTS DURING THE ADMISSION PROCESS

Please submit the following documents via our recruitment system:

  • Proof of payment for compulsory admission and tuition fees for the first semester
  • Educational Services Agreement
  • Declaration form
    (Note: These documents will be provided to you after acceptance through our online recruitment system or via email.)

III. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS UPON ARRIVAL AT THE UNIVERSITY

Ensure you bring the following documents with you upon arrival:

  • Copy of your health insurance policy or European Health Insurance Card (valid for at least one academic year in Poland)
  • Power of attorney (if enrolling through a representative)
  • Original School-Leaving Certificate, Maturity Certificate, Bachelor’s Degree, and transcripts
  • Apostille or legalization for diplomas issued outside of Poland
